How to transfer your domain to SiteCritter from an existing registrar.

  1. Go to the registrar your domain is currently registered with
  2. Request your "Auth Code" (Could also be called "EPP Code" or "transfer code") from your existing registrar
  3. Wait until you receive the code
  4. Go to SiteCritter and login
  5. Go to the "domains" tab
  6. Select "transfer"
  7. Follow the prompts to make your purchase
  8. Input the code received from your previous registrar and submit.
At this point, you have completed everything for your previous registrar to initiate the transfer.
Please note it may take up to 5-6 days for the transfer to be completed. This depends on your previous registrar. There may be a way to expedite the transfer which may require additional steps. Inquire with your previous registrar or read their knowledge base for guidance on their specific policies.
To find instructions on how to transfer your domain away from another registrar you can typically search "transfer domain out of (registrar name)". Below are links to the instructions from common registrars:
SquareSpace (Note that all Google Domains are now managed through Squarespace)
Cloudflare

NameCheap

Troubleshooting:

Always ensure your domain is "unlocked" and WHOIS privacy is OFF.
Ensure you enter the auth code from your previous registrar into SiteCritter when purchasing your domain. If you purchased the transfer without entering the auth code, contact our support team.
If you did not receive the auth code in your email within 24-48 hours (or whatever your registrar advised), it's possible your email address under your WHOIS contact information is incorrect. If you update any of your WHOIS information, it will automatically lock your domain for 60 days. This is done by ICANN, not your domain registrar.
If you have any other questions about transferring your domain, please contact our support team.
